报告时间:2024930日(星期一)上午0900-1100

报告题目:

1Power to ammonia nexus

2Ammonia to power nexus

报告简介:

1Ammonia is one of the most produced chemicals worldwide produced via the well-known Haber Bosh process from natural gas. Despite the synthesis process being widely applied, much effort is required to develop Power-to-ammonia system powered by Variable Renewable Energy Sources (V-RES). Overcoming the issues related to the stochastic nature of V-RES is key for the decarbonization of ammonia and to use it as a carbon-free fuel for the transport sector, and other energy processes. This lecture deals with the main research challenges regarding sustainable ammonia production, coupling conventional industrial synthesis processes with V-RES through energy storage solution and flexibility management strategies. The topic proposed is discussed from the point of view of energy system efficiency, cost and environmental indicators like carbon and water footprint.

2Green Ammonia is one of the potential sustainable fuel for energy future scenarios. Green ammonia as to be produced from renewable energy sources – power to ammonia (PTA) – and used in the available energy systems to produce energy – ammonia to power (ATP). Available technologies for the ATP are thermal power plants, internal combustion engines and fuel cells. The latter, in particular, Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) can operate with pure ammonia and high efficiency (> 55%). System design integrating ammonia SOFC have to be developed to obtain maximum system efficiency and evaluate the impact of operating parameters. Moreover, hybrid configurations allow to improve overall efficiency and reduce the cost of the system.

报告人简介:

1Arianna Baldinelli is Assistant Professor and researcher at the University of Pisa. With a master in mechanical engineering, she completed a PhD on the topic of hydrogen and fuel technologies. Her current research revolves around alternative fuels supply chains and systems, encompassing bioenergy pathways and renewable E-fuels. With numerous authored papers to her credit, she serves on international editorial boards in the field of fuels and sustainable technologies. Her involvement spans national and EU research projects, higher education initiatives, and international collaboration agreements.

2Giovann Cinti is Assistant Professor and researcher working in the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen technologies for the last 15 years with more than 60 articles published and more than 10 hydrogen projects participation. His experience is mainly dedicated to high-temperature fuel cells and electrolysis. He supported the organization of national and international conferences devoted to fuel cells and ammonia. Currently, he serves as the lead representative for UNIPG in Hydrogen Europe Research.
