题目: High-Speed Quantitative Imaging of Vapor and Liquid Phase Concentration Distributions in Evaporating Fuel Spray by Means of Two-Wavelength Laser Absorption Scattering Principle

告摘要: The ultraviolet/visible two-wavelength laser absorption scattering (LAS) technique quantitatively and simultaneously measures the vapor and liquid phase concentration distributions in a fuel spray. The LAS optical system firstly adopted an Nd:YAG pulse laser and CCD cameras to take a single-shot image per one spray. The images taken at different timing from different sprays were combined to obtain the time-series images. In order to obtain the time series of images of the single-shot spray, a high-speed laser absorption scattering (HS-LAS) technique was developed applying the contiguous diode light source and the high-speed video camera coupled with an image intensifier for ultraviolet, which can provide the high-speed images of the single-shot spray. This enables to analyze the time-domain phenomena such as the turbulent behavior of the spray boundary, the temporal variation of the concentration distribution, and the variation of mixture formation from one spray to another.

报告人简介:Dr. Keiya NISHIDA received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1978, M.S. in Engineering of Transportation Phenomena in 1980, and Ph.D. in 1989, all from University of Hiroshima, Japan.  From 1980 to 1982, he was a research and development engineer in the internal combustion engine department of Kubota Ltd, Osaka, Japan.  He joined University of Hiroshima as a research associate in 1982, and has been involved in experimental and computational studies on the fuel spray and combustion in internal combustion engines.  He became an associate professor in 1990 and a professor in 2011.  He spent one year from 1995 to 1996 at Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, University of Michigan, USA, as a visiting scholar.  

Dr. NISHIDA retired from University of Hiroshima in 2023 and is currently a professor emeritus and a guest professor of University of Hiroshima for supervising the university team of the student formula car activity and for advising the university - Mazda motor corporation joint research.  He holds more than 190 journal papers, 130 international conference papers, 6 review articles and 3 books.  He got the awards such as the prize for the best paper in the field Diesel engines presented at 20th CIMAC Congress in 1993, etc.  He became guest research professors of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Dalian University of Technology in China in 2023.
